A CONVERSATION AMONGST FRIENDS
“If you sit amongst the trees to the front of Bankstown Arts Centre, and listen very carefully, you can often hear a conversation amongst two fig tree birds.”
‘A Conversation Amongst Friends’ is intended as an extension of the peaceful ambience of Dale and Olympic parade. The work is inspired by small business ‘My Florist’ as well as Cynthia Turner’s existing mosaic-tiled mural situated at the front of the florist.
Driving toward Little Saigon from Marion Street, the over-arching trees would uncover the delight of bountiful, colourful florals. The bustle of local residents, small-business owners, delivery vans and trucks moving pass human-sized florals and a conversation amongst friends.
The Dale Parade Mural Project is commissioned by the City of Canterbury Bankstown Council with Bankstown Arts Centre and assisted by Keegan Best and George Khoury.
